WP2196157 Whirlpool Fill Tube
The SxS Refrigerator Ice Maker Fill Tube Fitting could be cracked or damaged and may start to leak. Replacing this part may alleviate the issue.The fill tube is approximately 10" long and can be cut to the length of the old fitting. Includes a 1/4" plastic nut and a metal insert for installation. Before beginning the installation, put a towel down on the floor in case of leaking water when disconnecting the water line from the back of the fridge. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the refrigerator or shut off the house circuit breaker for the refrigerator before installing this part.

1. Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet and shut off the water supply to your refrigerator.
2. Using a putty knife, carefully remove the existing Whirlpool WP2196157 fitting from the side of the refrigerator.
3. Inspect both the existing fitting and the replacement for any signs of damage or wear.
4. Apply a light coat of plumber's grease on the threads of the new fitting, as well as on the washer. This will prevent any potential leaking when tightening the fitting.
5. Securely tighten the new Whirlpool WP2196157 FITTING onto the side of the refrigerator.
6. Connect the water supply hose to the new fitting, making sure to tighten it securely.
7. Turn the water supply back on and check for any leaks.
8. Plug the refrigerator back into the power outlet and double-check that the fitting is secure and that there are no leaks.
