DIY: How to Replace a Whirlpool WP489497 Screw

1. Unplug the Whirlpool appliance from the wall outlet and turn off the water supply to the appliance if applicable.

2. Remove the covering panel of the Whirlpool appliance by unscrewing all screws securing it in place.

3. Locate the broken Whirlpool WP489497 screw.

4. Using a screwdriver, remove the damaged screw. Make sure to keep the damaged screw so that you can ensure you are using the correct size and type of new one.

5. Purchase a replacement Whirlpool WP489497 screw from your local hardware store.

6. Insert the new screw in the same location and direction as the old one.

7. Securely tighten the screw with the screwdriver.

8. Replace the covering panel of the appliance and screw it in place.

9. Plug the appliance back in and turn on the water supply where applicable.
