WP2180226 Whirlpool Ice Dispenser Control Switch Bracket
The SxS Refrigerator Control Bracket is a white plastic part located inside the ice dispenser assembly that contains and organizes the wiring that allows the assembly to function correctly. If the current control bracket in your appliance is cracked or damaged, your ice dispenser may not be working as intended. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. Helpful Tips: Take a digital photo of the wires inside the existing bracket before you begin this repair to aid with reassembly. 1. Turn off the power supply to the appliance, and unplug it from the wall socket.
2. Carefully move the appliance away from the wall and pull out the top portion of it to access the WP2180226 Whirlpool Control Bracket.
3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the old bracket in place.
4. Pull out the old bracket and set it aside.
5. Take the new WP2180226 Whirlpool Control Bracket and line up the holes with the mounting holes on the wall.
6. Secure the bracket in place with the provided screws.
7. Plug the appliance back into the wall outlet and turn on the power supply.
8. Test the appliance to make sure everything is working properly before putting it back in its original position.
