WPW10072840 Whirlpool Seal Assembly
This Top Load Washer Inner Agitator Dust Cap Seal prevents liquid fabric softener from dripping down inside the agitator. If you notice detergent leaking from your appliance, replacing this part may alleviate this issue. The seal measures 3" D. To access the part, open the lid of the washer and remove the fabric dispenser from the agitator. Replacing this part will require basic tools, minor disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. Make sure you unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Replacing the Whirlpool WPW10072840 RING-O
1. Start by unplugging the appliance to avoid getting an electric shock.
2. Once the power has been disconnected, locate the Ring-O at the back of the machine (normally behind a back plate).
3. Using the appropriate tools, unscrew the bolts that hold the Ring-O in place and remove it.
4. Place the new Ring-O in the same position as the old one, ensuring it’s correctly positioned and secured.
5. Replace the bolts that were removed earlier and firmly tighten them.
6. Plug the appliance back in and turn it on to test it.
7. Once you’ve ensured that the Ring-O is working properly, you can put the back plate back on.
