DIY Instructions for Replacing the Whirlpool 8205572 P1-INTERLOCK
1. First, unplug your dishwasher from the wall and shut off the water supply valve.
2. To access the P1-Interlock, remove the lower dishwasher panel. If you have a standard dishwasher, you’ll need a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the panel in place. If you have a built-in dishwasher, use a adjustable wrench to remove the mounting screws.
3. Once the panel is removed, locate the P1-Interlock, which is located on the lower part of the dishwasher. It should be easy to identify due to its distinctive shape and wiring.
4. Disconnect the old P1-Interlock from the wiring harness.
5. Install the new P1-Interlock by connecting the wiring to the corresponding points. Make sure to properly secure the connections.
6. Reinstall the lower panel and secure it with the necessary screws or bolts.
7. Turn the water supply valve back on and plug the dishwasher back into the wall.
8. Test your dishwasher to make sure the P1-Interlock is working correctly.
