DIY Refrigerator Ice Bin Coupling Replacement – Step by Step
1. Unplug the refrigerator from the power source and remove all food from the fridge.
2. Open the refrigerator door and locate the ice bin coupling assembly. You’ll find it in the back left side of the refrigerator, behind the ice compartment.
3. Grab a flashlight and look behind the ice bin coupling assembly for any debris or obstructions blocking the new coupling from being installed.
4. Once you have verified there is no debris, you can begin to remove the old coupling. Loosen the screws that secure the coupling in place and gently pull it away from the wall.
5. Take the new WP2220457 Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Bin Coupling and insert it into place. Make sure the tabs align perfectly so it fits securely.
6. Re-tighten the screws and make sure the coupling is held in place securely.
7. Put the food back in the refrigerator and plug it in.
