Replacing the WP3148953 Whirlpool Infinite Switch
1. Unplug your oven from its power source, or turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to your oven. This will prevent you from accidentally electrocuting yourself.
2. Remove the control panel. First, locate and remove the screws that secure the control panel to the oven. Carefully pull down the panel and set it aside.
3. Disconnect the power wires. Locate the wiring harness that connects the infinite switch to the control panel. Disconnect the wiring harness by squeezing the clip and pulling it off the terminal.
4. Loosen the mounting screws of the switch. Using a Phillips screwdriver, turn the two binding screws of the switch. This will loosen the switch and enable you to pull it out of the oven.
5. Install the new switch. Insert the new switch into the opening and reattach the wiring harness. Make sure the connections are secure and there aren’t any gaps.
6. Reattach the control panel. Place the control panel back on the oven and secure it with the screws you removed in step two.
7. Test your oven. Plug in the oven or turn on the appropriate circuit breaker. Turn the oven on and make sure the infinite switch works. If it does, job complete.
That’s it! You have successfully replaced the WP3148953 Whirlpool Infinite Switch.
Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
