Step 1: Prepare your workspace by clearing away any items that may be in your way. Unplug the Whirlpool Range from the wall outlet and then turn off the power at the circuit breaker.
Step 2: Remove the screws that are securing the two terminal blocks attached to the element. Then remove the entire element including the terminal blocks.
Step 3: Install the new surface element in the same exact way that the old one was removed. Make sure the terminal blocks are in their proper place and securely fastened with the screws.
Step 4: Plug the Whirlpool Range back into the wall outlet and turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
Step 5: Turn the element switch to “ON” and test your work by turning the element to a low setting. If the element does not heat up, repeat steps 1-4.
Step 6: When the element is heating up correctly, turn off the element switch and then unplug the Whirlpool Range from the wall outlet. Clean up the area and enjoy your new surface element.
