If your stove's burner no longer heats up, this part may alleviate the issue. Note that a multi-meter can be used to quickly and safely determine if a surface element is no longer functioning properly. Elements are sold separately. Installing this part will require no tools, disassembly or repair experience. Remember to unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Recommended Items: If the range's terminals are corroded, you can replace them with the Element Receptacle and Wire Kit (item 330031). If more than one of your appliance’s elements are no longer working, consider purchasing the complete Coil Surface Element Kit (item 4392061). Step 1: Prepare your workspace by clearing away any items that may be in your way. Unplug the Whirlpool Range from the wall outlet and then turn off the power at the circuit breaker.

Step 2: Remove the screws that are securing the two terminal blocks attached to the element. Then remove the entire element including the terminal blocks.

Step 3: Install the new surface element in the same exact way that the old one was removed. Make sure the terminal blocks are in their proper place and securely fastened with the screws.

Step 4: Plug the Whirlpool Range back into the wall outlet and turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Step 5: Turn the element switch to “ON” and test your work by turning the element to a low setting. If the element does not heat up, repeat steps 1-4.

Step 6: When the element is heating up correctly, turn off the element switch and then unplug the Whirlpool Range from the wall outlet. Clean up the area and enjoy your new surface element.
