WP8577374 Whirlpool Shaft Seal
This Washer Basket Drive Tube Seal for the top of basket drive tube shaft. The basket drive tube spins to rotate the basket during the spin cycle. If your basket isn't spinning properly, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. In order to access the parts, you'll remove the washer cabinet from the appliance. We strongly recommend that you hire a qualified technician to safely install this part. Replacing this part will require advanced mechanical training. Specialized tools, complex testing and appliance calibration may be required. Steps to Replace the Whirlpool WP8577374 Seal-Shaft
1. Unplug the power cord from your appliance.
2. Locate the Seal-Shaft at the bottom of your machine.
3. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the mounting screws holding the Seal-Shaft in place.
4. Pull the Seal-Shaft out carefully and set it aside.
5. Clean and dry the area where the old Seal-Shaft was mounted.
6. Carefully insert the new Seal-Shaft in its place.
7. Secure the Seal-Shaft with the mounting screws.
8. Plug the power cord back in and test the appliance.
