This Front Load Washer Drain Hose carries used water from the washer to your house drain. To access the part, remove the back panel of your washer, then the lower front access panel. When disconnecting any hoses, place a towel down to catch any water. You'll need to transfer over the old clamps to the new hose. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn the water supply off to the washer. Steps to Replace a Whirlpool WPW10096921 Hose
1. Unplug the washing machine from the wall outlet.
2. Place a towel on the floor in front of the washer, to catch any water that may drain out.
3. Locate the hose at the back of the washer. It is usually held in place by a clamp or nut.
4. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the clamp or nut.
5. Pull the hose gently away from the washer.
6. Inspect the old hose for signs of wear and tear, such as splits, cracks or signs of corrosion.
7. Get a replacement hose. Be sure it’s the right size, type and length for your washing machine. The Whirlpool WPW10096921 hose is 5 feet in length.
8. Push the new hose onto the washer inlet.
9. Tighten the clamp or nut to hold the hose in place.
10. Plug the washer back into the wall outlet.
