DIYWP216201: How to Replace a Whirlpool Rubber Injector Valve
If your Whirlpool dishwasher has a damaged rubber injector valve, it is important to replace it as soon as possible. A broken injector valve may reduce the efficiency of your dishwasher or lead to water leakage. Fortunately, replacing the worn rubber injector valve is a relatively easy DIY task and does not require any specialized skills or tools. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you replace the WP216201 Whirlpool rubber injector valve.
Materials and Tools Needed:
• WP216201 Whirlpool rubber injector valve
• Flathead screwdriver
• Needle-nose pliers
• A soft cloth
Step 1: Disconnect the Power Supply
Before beginning any repairs on your dishwasher, make sure that the power supply is disconnected. By doing this, you will prevent any damages or shocks.
Step 2: Remove the Old Injector Valve
Once the power supply is disconnected, you can begin removing the old injector valve. Use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew the two screws that secure the valve in place. Once both screws are out, gently pull the valve out of its holder and set it aside.
Step 3: Clean the Holder
Check the holder for any dirt or debris and remove it using a soft cloth. Make sure the holder is completely clean before proceeding to the next step.
Step 4: Install the New Injector Valve
Take the new WP216201 Whirlpool rubber injector valve and insert it into the holder. Secure the valve with the two screws that were previously removed.
Step 5: Test the Valve
Make sure that the injector valve is securely in place and that there are no leaks. To do this, use a needle-nose pliers to hold the valve open and check for any water leaks. If there is a leak, make sure the valve is tight and secure before proceeding.
