Replacing the Whirlpool W11291138 Switch
1. Disconnect power to the appliance by unplugging it from the wall or tripping the appropriate breaker on your home's circuit panel.
2. Open the dryer door and locate the control switch on the right side of the main control panel (it has a single mounting screw).
3. Carefully remove the control switch by loosening the screw, being careful not to damage any wiring.
4. Identify the old wiring connectors and use needle-nose pliers to unscrew the connectors. Then disconnect the wiring from the old switch.
5. Secure the new Whirlpool W11291138 switch in the same position as the old one, using the same screw. Make sure the switch is securely attached.
6. Connect the wiring to the new switch using the same connectors as the old switch. Make sure the connection is secure.
7. Restore power to the appliance by plugging it back in or resetting the breaker.
8. Test the dryer's operation to make sure the new switch works properly.
