Replacing the Whirlpool WP2325482 Hinge: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Safety First: Before starting any repairs, make sure you turn off the power at the circuit breaker and unplug the refrigerator.
2. Remove the Door: Begin by removing the old hinge pin from the body of the fridge. Using a screwdriver and a hammer, gently tap the pin out from one side to the other. Once done, remove the door from the refrigerator.
3. Remove the Old Hinge: Locate the two screws on the inside of the door connected to the old hinge and remove them. Slide the old hinge off of the door.
4. Install the New Hinge: Place the new WP2325482 hinge onto the door. Secure it in place with the same two screws that were used to attach the old hinge.
5. Reattach the Door: Line up the holes in the door with the slots on the body of the fridge. Slip the hinge pin into the holes and use a hammer and screwdriver to tap it back into place.
6. Test the Repair: Make sure the new hinge is installed correctly by opening and closing the door several times. There should be no looseness or instability. If everything is working properly, you can turn the power back on and plug the refrigerator in.
