The Dryer Door Seal is a rubber gasket that prevents heat loss in the appliance during the drying cycle. 1. Begin by unplugging the refrigerator from the wall outlet and removing all food items.
2. Remove the existing door seal by lifting up one end and gently pulling it away from the refrigerator’s frame.
3. Carefully wipe down the lip of the doorframe to ensure it is clean and completely dry.
4. Take the new W10906683 Whirlpool Door Seal and place it on top of the refrigerator’s frame.
5. Line up the holes along the frame and the seal, then push in the plastic prongs to secure the seal in place.
6. Start at one end and press the seal firmly into the frame with your finger, ensuring it is pressed firmly against the frame all the way around.
7. Once the seal is securely fastened, plug the refrigerator back into the wall outlet.
8. Test the door to make sure the seal is tight and does not leak air.
9. If the seal is leaking air, adjust the pressure of the seal by loosening or tightening the plastic prongs.
10. Finally, replace any food items that were removed and enjoy your newly sealed refrigerator!
