Tools Required:
#2 Phillips Screwdriver, Voltage Tester, Socket Wrench Set
Step 1: Unplug the refrigerator. Before beginning any work on your refrigerator, be sure to unplug it from the wall.
Step 2: Remove the screws securing the back wall. Using your #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws securing the back panel of the refrigerator.
Step 3: Disconnect the power. Locate the electrical connection for the defrost heater assembly and use a voltage tester to ensure there is no power running to it.
Step 4: Remove the old heater assembly. Use a socket wrench set to remove the mounting screws for the old heater assembly. Pull the assembly out from the rear and discard.
Step 5: Install the new heater assembly. Carefully slide the new heater assembly into place from the rear. Secure the new heater assembly with the mounting screws and tighten with a socket wrench.
