This Electric Range Oven Door Hinge allows the door of your oven to close properly and ensures it will safely remain open at an angle during use. Note that two hinges are used per oven; hinges are sold separately. This stainless-steel replacement part can be used for the left or right side. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the oven and novice repair experience. Steps to Replace the WPW10299224 Whirlpool Range Door Hinge - Active with Spring
1. Gather materials:
• WPW10299224 Whirlpool Range Door Hinge - Active with Spring
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Flat head screwdriver
• Pliers
2. Disconnect the power to the oven by unplugging it from the outlet or by shutting off the power at the circuit breaker.
3. Open the door and use the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the screws attaching the existing hinge to the range.
4. Use the flat head screwdriver to loosen the existing hinge from the oven door.
5. Place the new WPW10299224 Whirlpool Range Door Hinge - Active with Spring in the same position as the old one and secure it to the oven door using the flat head screwdriver.
6. Secure the new hinge to the oven using the Phillips head screwdriver.
7. Test the oven door to ensure that the door opens and closes easily.
