Step 1: Unplug Washer From Power Source
Unplug the washer from the power source by pulling the electrical plug to the wall outlet.

Step 2: Disconnect Water Lines
Disconnect the water lines which feed into the back of the washer using an adjustable wrench.

Step 3: Remove Access Panel
Remove the access panel located in the rear of the washer, which is usually secured with several screws.

Step 4: Disconnect Heating Element
Unscrew the heating element assembly from the rear panel, then pull it out and disconnect the wires.

Step 5: Install WP8544771 Heating Element
Replace the old heating element with a new WP8544771 heating element. Make sure to secure the wires and screws properly before you set it back into the panel.

Step 6: Reinstall Access Panel
Place the access panel back into position and secure the screws tightly.

Step 7: Reconnect Water Lines
Turn the water supply back on, then reconnect the water lines to the washer.

Step 8: Plug Washer Back In
Plug the washer back into the power source, then turn it on to make sure the new heating element is working properly.
