The Dishwasher Drain Hose carries drain water from the dishwasher drain pump to the kitchen sink drain. When disconnecting the lines underneath the sink, be sure to place a towel down to catch any leaking water. Also make sure that the sink-end of the new hose is the correct size on the new before installing. If needed, you can cut the new hose end to fit the sink end. This white plastic hose measures 67" L. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. Step-by-Step Guide to Replacing a WPW10545278 Whirlpool Drain Hose
1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unscrew the two screws at the back of the appliance and gently remove the back panel.
3. Locate the existing drain hose and unscrew it from its connection points.
4. Take the new WPW10545278 Whirlpool replacement drain hose and attach it in place, making sure all connections are securely tightened.
5. Put the back panel back on, using the two screws you initially loosened.
6. Plug the power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the appliance.
