The Dryer Door Switch contains 3 metal terminals and senses if the door of your dryer is properly closed to prevent the appliance from running when the door is ajar. If your dryer does not start as expected or the door will not close, then the door switch could be broken or defective and should be replaced. Note that this part is the door switch only and does not include the mounting clip. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience.
