The Dryer Idler Pulley and Bracket sits between the motor and the drum of the dryer, putting tension on the drive belt. Step 1: Shut off the water supply to the washing machine. You’ll find the shutoff valves near the base of the machine or in a nearby closet or wall.
Step 2: Unplug the washer and remove any hoses connected to the machine. You may need an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts that secure the hoses to the machine.
Step 3: Remove the old Lever-IDL. You should be able to do this by unscrewing it from the side of the washer with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 4: Install the new Lever-IDL. Place the new part into its previous position and secure it with the screws that were used to remove the old part.
Step 5: Reattach the hoses if necessary and turn on the water supply.
Step 6: Plug the washer back in and test the new Lever-IDL to make sure it works properly.
