The Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve allows the appliance to fill with water and complete the cleaning cycle. If your dishwasher won't fill properly or overflows, then the water valve is likely restricted or damaged and will need replacement. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. DIY Guide to Replacing the W10648041 Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve
Are you having issues with your Whirlpool water inlet valve? If so, it’s probably time for a replacement. By following this DIY guide you can quickly and easily replace your W10648041 Whirlpool water inlet valve.
Tools Needed:
-Screwdriver
-Pliers
-New W10648041 valve
Instructions:
1. Shut off the water supply to the valve.
2. Unscrew the screws that secure the valve to the wall.
3. Gently loosen the water line connected to the valve by using pliers.
4. Pull the valve out of the wall and take a look at the wiring. Make sure to note which wires go to which terminals.
5. Once you have noted the wiring setup, disconnect the wires from the old valve.
6. Take the new W10648041 valve and connect the same wires to the same terminals as on the old valve.
7. Insert the new valve into the wall, being careful to align the inlet tube with the water supply line.
