This Front Load Washer Door Hinge Pin Cap is a small white plastic part that covers the end of the appliance door's hinge pin and allows it to open and close properly. Note that your washer's door hinge requires (4) hinge pin caps for operation; each cap is sold separately. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. DIY: How to Replace the Whirlpool Hinge Pin Cap (Model WPW10208398)
Tools Required:
-Phillips Screwdriver
-Pliers
Step 1: Unscrew the hinge pin cap from the refrigerator door. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to do this.
Step 2: Remove the old hinge pin cap from the refrigerator door with a pair of pliers. Make sure to be gentle and avoid breaking the plastic on the door when you remove the cap.
Step 3: Install the new hinge pin cap. Begin by inserting the new hinge pin cap into the hole in the refrigerator door. Use the pliers to press the cap into place.
Step 4: Secure the new hinge pin cap. Use a Phillips screwdriver to secure the new cap into place. Make sure the screws are tightly fastened for added security.
Step 5: Test your work. Make sure the hinge pin cap is tightly secured into place and that it functions properly.
