WP9742945 Whirlpool Spray Arm Nut
This Dishwasher Spray Arm Retainer Nut is a retainer nut for the spray arm of your dishwasher, and it is what holds the lower spray arm onto the pump. If it has been damaged, and no longer holds the spray arm to the pump, you may need to replace this part. To access the part, remove the lower rack out of the dishwasher and unscrew the old spray arm retainer nut counter clockwise to remove. Install the new retainer nut by securing it clockwise. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the appliance and no repair experience. Remember to unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. You must also turn off the water supply underneath the sink before installation. Instructions for Replacing the WP9742945 Whirlpool Spray Arm Nut
1. Unplug the dishwasher before starting.
2. Locate the spray arm nut on the underside of the spray arm.
3. Use a flat head screwdriver to unscrew and remove the nut.
4. Take the new nut (WP9742945) and thread it on to the spray arm until it is snug.
5. Use your screwdriver to tighten the nut, making sure it is secure.
6. Replace the spray arm into its original position.
7. Plug the dishwasher back in to verify the nut is tight and secure.
8. Run a cycle to test the function of the newly replaced nut.
