This Dryer Heating Element is a replacement part that generates heat for drying your clothes. Be sure to check the thermal fuse on dryer before replacing the heating element. This is a 240 volt, 5400 watt heating element, and has 5/16" terminals. If your dryer isn't heating as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. DIY: How to Replace a Whirlpool Dryer Heating Element
Tools and Parts Needed:
• Phillips screwdriver
• New heating element
• Small flat head screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Remove the screws from the back or bottom of the dryer, depending on the model you have. This will give you access to the interior of the dryer.
3. Disconnect the connecting wires to the old heating element, then remove it.
4. Install the new heating element by connecting the wires that were previously attached to the old element.
5. Secure the heating element in place by re-attaching the screws removed earlier.
6. Restore power to the dryer by plugging the power cord back into the power outlet.
7. Test the new heating element by running the dryer; if it is working correctly, it should heat up quickly.
