WP3148952 Whirlpool Oven Range Infinite Switch
This Range Element Control Switch turns the surface element on and off and controls how much heat the element produces. If your element remains at high heat or doesn’t turn on at all, replacing this part may alleviate these issues. To access the part, you'll need to remove the back panel of the range. Depending upon your model, you may not have the same terminal blocks and you may need to swap out your wires one at a time. This switch is for 6-inch burners (5.2- 6.6 amp). For 8" burners, use part WP3149400 at whirlpoolparts.com under item number 2786. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.

Replacing a Whirlpool Range Infinite Switch
Tools and Materials Needed:
-Screwdriver
-Wire cutters
-New infinite switch
Instructions:
1. Unplug the stove from the electrical outlet.
2. Locate the screw located on the back panel of the range that is holding the infinite switch in place. Using your screwdriver, remove the screw.
3. Push the back panel away from the stove and locate the wires that are connected to the infinite switch.
4. Using your wire cutters, cut the wires that are connected to the infinite switch.
5. Slide the infinite switch out of the stove.
6. Insert the new infinite switch into the stove. Then, secure the infinite switch in place with the screw you removed earlier.
7. Reconnect the wires to the new switch. Make sure that the correct wires are connected to the right terminals.
8. Push the back panel back into place.
9. Plug the stove back into the electrical outlet.
10. Test the infinite switch to make sure it is working properly.
