DIY Instructions on Replacing the Whirlpool WP6-912678 PIN- HINGE
1. Prepare the tools and materials needed. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, a pair of pliers, and a new replacement pin-hinge for your Whirlpool WP6-912678 appliance.
2. Disconnect the power by unplugging the appliance from the wall socket or turning off the circuit breaker.
3. Remove the screws which secure the top panel to the appliance. To do this, use the Phillips screwdriver to take out the screws located at the back of the appliance.
4. Open the top panel of the appliance and you will see the pin-hinge. Disconnect the pin-hinge from the appliance by removing the cap securing it in place. Then, loosen the screws which attach the hinge to the back panel of the appliance.
5. Take out the old pin-hinge and replace it with a new one. Make sure to attach the new pin-hinge using the screws and secure it in place.
6. Put the top panel back in place and secure it by replacing the screws taken off earlier.
7. Test the appliance’s functionality before reconnecting the power. If the appliance works fine, then you have successfully replaced the Whirlpool WP6-912678 pin-hinge.
