The Ice Container Assembly stores ice in the freezer compartment for dispensing. This part includes the metal auger. When removing the icemaker assembly, be sure to lift the ice shut off arm up. DIY Instructions for Replacing Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Bucket Assembly (Part Number WPW10347093)
1. Gather the necessary tools: Phillips-head screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, bucket replacement (WPW10347093).
2. Unplug your refrigerator.
3. Locate the ice maker on the back of the refrigerator. You will see a motor with two arms connected to it.
4. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the ice maker in place.
5. Carefully remove the ice maker. Take note of any wires or connectors that may be connected to the ice maker.
6. Detach the wiring harness from the ice maker and remove the ice bucket from the body of the ice maker.
7. Install the new bucket assembly (WPW10347093) by following the instructions provided with the part.
8. Reattach the wiring harness to the new bucket assembly.
9. Secure the ice maker back into the refrigerator using the two screws.
10. Plug in your refrigerator and turn it back on.
11. Test the new bucket assembly for proper functioning.
