This Dishwasher Door Hinge Friction Sleeve reduces friction between the dishwasher door and the door hinge, and helps your dishwasher door open and close smoothly. To access this part, you'll need to pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. The friction sleeve is mounted on the hinge. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. 1. Unplug your dryer before starting any repairs to ensure safety.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws from the back panel of the dryer.
3. Gently pull the back panel away from the dryer and set aside for later.
4. Locate the WP8268961 Whirlpool friction pad inside the dryer.
5. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the old friction pad from its mounting bolts.
6. Remove any debris or lint from the area surrounding the friction pad.
7. Position the replacement WP8268961 Whirlpool friction pad into the correct place on the dryer.
8. Use the needle nose pliers to secure the new friction pad to its mounting bolts.
9. Replace the back panel of the dryer and secure with the previously removed screws.
10. Plug the dryer back in and test to ensure that the replacement was successful.
