Replacing the Speed Queen Washer Door Lock and Switch Assembly (802317P)
1. Unplug the washer from the wall outlet.
2. Open the lid of the washer and locate the door lock and switch assembly. The assembly is usually located in the middle of the machine, near or beneath the lid.
3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the door lock and switch assembly to the washer.
4. Disconnect the two wiring harnesses connected to the door lock and switch assembly.
5. Remove the old door lock and switch assembly.
6. Install the new door lock and switch assembly. Make sure the new unit is properly aligned before securing with the screws.
7. Reconnect the two wiring harnesses to the new door lock and switch assembly.
8. Replace the screws that secure the door lock and switch assembly to the washer.
9. Plug the washer back in to the wall outlet and test the new door lock and switch assembly to ensure it is functioning properly.
