WPW10553968 Whirlpool Washplate
The Top Load Washer Washplate turns back and forth at the bottom of the spin basket to circulate the wash load through the water. The washplate is located in the bottom of your washer's tub. To access the part, open the washer lid and remove the cap of the plate with a flat head screwdriver. Then use your ratchet to loosen the bolt inside the plate so you can remove the old part. This new washplate does not come with the metal shield, you can transfer it over from your old washplate. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your washer's hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
