WPW10293874 Whirlpool Stove Cooktop Knob Grommet
The Range Cooktop Knob Grommet forms a seal between the knob and the control panel. Approximately 2" in diameter, this part is made of black plastic, and is sold individually. To complete the repair, simply remove the burner knob and the old knob grommet, replace it with the new knob grommet and re-attach the burner knob. The product contains four locking tabs that should snap into place easily. Replacing this part will require no disassembly or repair experience.

1. Start by shutting off the power to the appliance. This can be done by unplugging the stove's power cord from the outlet or flipping off the breaker switch in your home’s circuit breaker box.
2. Locate the old WPW10293874 Whirlpool Stove Cooktop Knob Grommet. It is usually located at the bottom of the knobs behind the cooktop. Remove the knob off the cooktop by pulling it off the grommet.
3. Carefully remove the old grommet using a flat-head screwdriver. You may need to use a pair of pliers to twist and pull the grommet off the stove.
4. Take the new grommet and place it in the same spot where the old one was situated. Make sure to line up the holes in the grommet with the holes in the cooktop.
5. Using a flat-head screwdriver, carefully press the grommet down into the cooktop until it is flush with the surface.
6. Insert the knobs back onto the grommet and test to see if it is secure.
7. Turn the power back on, and you're done!
