This Combination Washer Water Inlet Valve allows cold water to fill in the washer during the cleaning cycle. This part has a standard hose fitting inlet with (1) water outlet. If your washer isn’t getting any cold water, is filling slowly, not filling at all or leaking cold water onto the floor, replacing the valve may alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. How to Replace a Whirlpool WPW10212596 VALVE

Replacing the valve on your Whirlpool WPW10212596 refrigerator can be an easy DIY task as long as you have the right tools and follow these instructions.

Tools You Will Need:

• Adjustable wrench

• Screwdriver

• Pliers

• Replacement Whirlpool WPW10212596 valve

Step 1: Unplug the power from the refrigerator by pulling out the power cord from the wall outlet.

Step 2:Locate the valve on the back of the refrigerator. It is usually mounted on the exit line for the water dispenser.

Step 3:Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the fittings that hold the valve in place. Be sure to support the weight of the valve with one hand as you remove it.

Step 4:Remove the screws at the base of the valve using your screwdriver. There may also be hoses connected to the valve; use the pliers to gently pull them off.

Step 5:Insert the new valve into the same mount that holds the old valve and secure it with the screws. Make sure to align the fittings correctly.

Step 6:Attach the hoses if needed and tighten the fittings with the wrench to ensure a secure fit.

Step 7:Plug the power back into the wall outlet.

Step 8:Turn on the water supply and check the valve and connections for any leaks.
