How to Replace a Whirlpool WPW10195039 Switch

Replacing a switch on a Whirlpool appliance can help restore proper functioning and is an easy do-it-yourself repair. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the Whirlpool WPW10195039 switch.

Tools needed:
#2 Phillips screwdriver

Step 1: Shut off power to the appliance. To prevent the risk of electric shock, unplug the appliance or turn off the breaker on your home’s electrical circuit box.

Step 2: Remove the screws that hold the control panel in place. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws. If necessary, tilt the control panel slightly to access some of the screws.

Step 3: Disconnect the wires from the existing switch. Carefully pull the wires away from the switch terminals without twisting them. It may be helpful to label the wires so you know where to attach them later.

Step 4: Install the new switch. Insert the new switch into the control panel and reattach the screws that hold it in place. Be sure the switch is securely held in place.

Step 5: Reconnect the wires. Match up the labeled wires with their original locations on the switch terminals. Push the wires onto the terminals and twist the terminal screws to secure in place.

Step 6: Replace the control panel and reconnect power to the appliance. Use the Phillips screwdriver to reattach the control panel. Once the panel is in place, plug in the appliance or turn the breaker back on.

You have now successfully replaced the Whirlpool WPW10195039 switch.

Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
