WP9761958 Whirlpool Range Terminal Block
This Range Terminal Block connects the house power to the range wire harness. The Terminal Block is located in the back of the oven behind the access cover. When disconnecting the wires to the old Terminal Block, make note of how they're connected for mounting the new block. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. DIY Steps for Replacing the WP9761958 Whirlpool Range Terminal Block
1. Unplug the range from the wall to ensure it is safely disconnected from the power source.
2. Gather the tools you will need, such as a Phillips screwdriver, putty knife or flathead screwdriver, pliers, and a new WP9761958 terminal block.
3. Open the range’s control panel by removing the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
4. To access the terminal block, you may need to remove other components, such as the oven temperature sensor, that are connected to the terminal block.
5. Disconnect the wires running to the current terminal block by gently pulling them away from the terminals.
6. Unscrew the current terminal block with a Phillips screwdriver.
7. Install the new WP9761958 terminal block into the same hole and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
8. Reconnect the wires to their respective terminals on the new terminal block.
9. Reassemble your range by replacing each component connected to the terminal block and closing up the control panel with the screws you removed earlier.
10. Plug the range back into the wall and test for proper functionality.
