DIY Guide for Replacing a WP3398128 Whirlpool Cycling Thermostat

Tools Needed:
• Phillips screwdriver
• Flat head screwdriver
• Voltage tester

Step 1: Turn off power to the thermostat. Unplug the range from the wall outlet or shut off the circuit breaker on the circuit the range is connected to.

Step 2: Remove the outer cover of the cycling thermostat by using a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws. Carefully lift the cover away from the wall.

Step 3: Remove the wiring connection on the old thermostat. Use a flat head screwdriver to loosen the screws and pull the wires away from the terminals.

Step 4: Attach the new thermostat wiring connections. Make sure to match up the wires with the appropriate terminals. Tighten the screws securely to make sure the connections are secure.

Step 5: Mount the new thermostat in the wall. Insert the new thermostat into the wall and use the Phillips screwdriver to loosely secure it with the screws. Make sure that the thermostat is level and tightens the screws.

Step 6: Test the new thermostat with a voltage tester. Make sure there is no power running through the wires and begin the testing process. The tester should indicate that no voltage is present.

Step 7: Restore power to the thermostat. Reconnect the range to the wall socket or turn on the circuit breaker. Now your WP3398128 Whirlpool Cycling Thermostat has been successfully replaced.

Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
