W10258275 Whirlpool Dishwasher Bimetal Fuse
The Dishwasher Thermal Fuse Kit includes (1) fuse assembly, (2) zip ties and installation instructions. The thermal fuse is located inside the console of the dishwasher and shuts off the heating element if the appliance overheats. If the thermal fuse fails, the dishwasher will not start. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. How to Replace a Whirlpool Bi-Metal Fuse W10258275
1. Unplug the power cord for the appliance from the wall outlet.
2. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the screws that are holding the back panel and pull back panel away from the appliance.
3. Identify the bi-metal fuse on the side of the appliance, labeled W10258275.
4. Remove the wires attached to the bi-metal fuse from their respective terminals.
5. Disconnect the bi-metal fuse from its housing.
6. Take the new bi-metal fuse and attach it to its housing in place of the old bi-metal fuse.
7. Reconnect the wires to their respective terminals.
8. Secure the back panel back onto the appliance with screws.
9. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
10. Test the appliance to ensure the bi-metal fuse is working properly.
