Replacing the A00126401 Frigidaire Dishwasher Drain Pump Assembly
DIY instructions
Tools:
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Flathead screwdriver
-Needle-nose pliers
-Drain pan
-Replacement A00126401 Frigidaire Dishwasher Drain Pump Assembly
Instructions:
1. Unplug the dishwasher from the wall outlet or flip the circuit breaker that controls it.
2. Place a drain pan under the dishwasher to collect any water from draining during the repair.
3. Open the lower panel of the dishwasher. Use a Phillips head and/or flathead screw driver to do this depending on the specific fasteners used.
4. Locate the drain pump assembly. It is typically located inside the dishwasher near the water inlet valve.
5. Disconnect the drain hose and drain pump wiring. Use needle-nose pliers to disconnect the plug connections.
6. Remove the existing pump assembly by unscrewing it with a Phillips head screwdriver.
7. Take the replacement A00126401 Frigidaire Dishwasher Drain Pump Assembly and fit it into place. Secure it with a Phillips head screwdriver.
8. Reconnect the drain hose and drain pump wiring.
9. Close the lower panel of the dishwasher.
10. Plug the dishwasher back into the wall outlet or flip the circuit breaker back on.
11. Run the dishwasher empty to test the new pump assembly.
