How to Replace the Speed Queen 204486 KIT, Aluminum Pulley

Replacing the Speed Queen 204486 KIT, Aluminum Pulley isn’t as daunting as it sounds. With a few simple tools and a little bit of elbow grease, you can easily replace your ailing pulley and get your washing machine running like new again.

What You’ll Need:

• Ratchet Wrench
• New Speed Queen 204486 KIT, Aluminum Pulley
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Small flathead screwdriver
• Needle-nose pliers

Step 1: Unplug Your Washing Machine

Before you begin any repair on an electrical appliance, make sure to unplug it from its power source. This will ensure your safety throughout the repair process.

Step 2: Remove the Control Panel

Using your Phillips head screwdriver, remove the four screws that are holding the control panel in place. The control panel is the top portion of the washing machine, which houses the various controls and displays.

Step 3: Remove the Old Pulley

With the control panel removed, you now have access to the old pulley. Use your ratchet wrench to loosen the mounting bolts, then carefully remove the pulley from the motor shaft.

Step 4: Install the New Pulley

Take the new Speed Queen 204486 KIT, Aluminum Pulley and place it on the motor shaft. Use your ratchet wrench to secure the pulley in place with the mounting bolts.

Step 5: Reinstall the Control Panel
