DIY Replacement of the WPW10614597 Whirlpool Burner Knob
1. Begin by unplugging the appliance or turning off the power to the stove at the circuit breaker in order to ensure the safety of yourself and the appliance.
2. Locate the burner knob that needs to be replaced. The WPW10614597 Whirlpool Burner Knob will be labeled with a white and silver label.
3. Remove the old knob by unscrewing the retaining nut on the underside of the knob. Be aware that the nut may become stuck, so try using a pair of pliers to remove it.
4. Take the new WPW10614597 Whirlpool Burner Knob and place it on the stem of the burner valve, line up the hole with the retaining nut and screw it back on to the stem.
5. Before switching the power back on, check to make sure all the knobs are securely fastened. Once you’re sure they’re all fixed, turn the appliance back on.
