WPW10308477 Whirlpool Bake Element
This Range Bake Element keeps your oven heating properly. The element is fastened into the back of the oven by two phillips screws. The main reason for replacing the heating element is if it has shorted out and is no longer heating the oven sufficiently. When removing the old element and disconnecting the wires, make sure you don't allow the wires to fall back into the oven wall. This bake element measures 16-5/8" wide x 15-3/4" long and has 3" terminals to the mounting bracket with 1-3/4" between terminals. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part.

1. Unplug your oven from the power source.
2. Slide the oven out from the cabinet, if necessary.
3. Locate the WPW10308477 Bake Element in the bottom of the oven.
4. Remove the two screws holding the bake element in place.
5. Carefully pull the bake element out of the oven.
6. Place the new WPW10308477 Bake Element into the oven, lining up the holes with the screws on the back wall of the oven.
7. Replace the two screws that you removed earlier, being sure to use the same location as before.
8. Plug your oven back into the power source and test the new bake element by setting the oven to a high temperature.
9. If the oven heats properly, the bake element has been successfully replaced. However, if it does not heat or cooks unevenly, you may need to replace the bake element again.
10. When finished, make sure the oven is unplugged and slide it back into it's cabinet, if necessary.
