This Gas Range Burner Grate Pads attaches to the bottom of the burner grate to prevent the cooktop from becoming scratched. Each pad is sold separately and you may need as many as (8) pads for your entire cooktop. Note that you will need to wait until the burner is cool to replace this part. Step 1: Begin by unplugging the Whirlpool appliance from the electrical outlet.
Step 2: Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that secure the top panel of the appliance and pull off the panel.
Step 3: Examine the area around the damaged grommet and identify any other damaged parts.
Step 4: Use a pair of pliers to remove the old grommet and discard.
Step 5: Insert the new grommet into the opening and use a hammer or pliers to make sure that it is snug and secure.
Step 6: With both hands, twist the grommet in a clockwise motion to ensure that it is tight.
Step 7: Place the top panel back onto the appliance and secure with the screws from step 2.
Step 8: Plug the appliance back into the electrical outlet and turn on.
Step 9: Inspect the area for any leaks or issues.
