Step 1: Unplug the power cord of your Whirlpool WPW10178772 washer. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the hoses to the washer.
Step 2: Remove the front panel off the washer by unscrewing the two screws at the bottom of the washer. Once the screws are removed, pull out on the bottom panel and lift it up. This will expose the inner mechanism of the washer.
Step 3: Locate the PAN-CRISPR part. It is usually located at the top of the washer near the control board. Unscrew the mounting screws that attach the CRISPR to the washer. Be sure to keep these screws in a secure place, as you will need them when replacing the part.
Step 4: Remove the old PAN-CRISPR part and replace it with the new one. Make sure to line up all the mounting holes with the holes on the washer before reattaching the screws.
Step 5: Make sure all the screws are tightly secured and then plug the power cord back into the wall. Reconnect the hoses and turn on the water supply.
Step 6: Test the washer by running a small load. Make sure everything works properly before putting back the front panel.
