W10902814 Whirlpool Washer Washplate
This Top Load Washer Washplate is located in the bottom of the spin basket and turns back and forth to circulate laundry through the water during the wash cycle. If your washer isn’t spinning properly and begins making an unusual noise, the washplate may need to be replaced. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the hot and cold water supplies. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

DIY Step-By-Step Guide to Replacing the Whirlpool Washer Washplate (Model W10902814)
Step 1: Prepare the Washer
Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and make sure it's completely drained of any water. Shut off the water supply leading to the washer. Disconnect any hoses that are attached to the washer.
Step 2: Open the Washer
Lay a towel down on the floor in front of the washer to protect it from any damage caused by dropped parts. Remove the screws that hold the bottom panel in place and detach it from the washer. Once the panel has been removed, you will be able to access the washer's internal components.
Step 3: Replace the Washplate
Find the washplate near the bottom of the washer and disconnect the wires and hoses attached to it. Remove the screws that secure the washplate to the washer. Carefully pull the washplate out of the washer and set it aside. Take the new washplate and secure it to the washer using the original screws. Connect the wiring and hoses to the new washplate.
Step 4: Reattach Bottom Panel
Reattach the bottom panel to the washer using the screws you previously removed. Make sure the panel is securely fastened to the washer.
Step 5: Reattach Hoses and Wiring
Reconnect any hoses and wiring that were disconnected in step 3. Make sure all the connections are tight so there is no water or electric leakage. Turn on the water supply and plug the washer back into the wall outlet. Test the washer to make sure the new washplate is functioning properly.
