DIY Step-by-Step Guide to Replacing the Whirlpool W10862460 HOUSING COIL
1. Turn off your refrigerator's power supply. If your refrigerator runs on gas, turn the dial or switch to "Off" before attempting any repair.
2. Remove the screws that hold the housing coil in place. Try using an electric screwdriver for easy removal.
3. Disconnect the power connections from the back of the housing coil. It is important to remember which wire goes where so that you will be able to put them in the same place when installing the new housing coil.
4. Carefully lift out the old housing coil and discard it.
5. To install the new housing coil, carefully place it into the designated section in the back of the refrigerator.
6. Carefully reconnect the power connections in the same way they were disconnected.
7. Secure the new housing coil to the refrigerator by reinstalling the screws that were removed earlier.
8. Turn on the power to the refrigerator, and check to make sure the new housing coil is functioning properly.
