WPW10443885 Whirlpool Door Lock
This Front Load Washer Door Lock Assembly locks the washer door and tells the control board that the door is closed. If your washer door no longer latches, the wash cycle will no longer start, and replacing this part may alleviate the issue. When removing the old door lock, make note of how the plugs are inserted into the switch. Push the tabs and disconnect the three harness plugs from the old lock. Then you can connect the large plug to the new door lock. To connect the remaining two plugs, you'll have to remove the top of the washer to reach them. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing.

DIY Steps for Replacing the WPW10443885 Whirlpool Door Lock
1. Unplug the appliance from its power source before beginning the repair process.
2. Open the washer door and locate the screws that secure the door lock assembly to the top of the door opening.
3. Remove the screws and then carefully remove the old door lock assembly.
4. Put the new WPW10443885 Whirlpool door lock in place. Secure it using the screws previously removed.
5. Plug the appliance back in to the power source.
6. Test the new door lock assembly by closing and opening the door. If it works, the replacement process is complete.
