WPW10199696 Whirlpool Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser
The Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser in white is located inside your dishwasher's door and dispenses the soap and the rinse aid that adequately cleans your dishes. If your current dispenser is no longer dispensing the soap or rinse aid, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Before installing the new dispenser, make sure you clean the area under the old dispenser, allowing for a secure seal. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. You should also shut off the dishwasher's water supply underneath the sink before replacing this part. Replacing the Whirlpool WPW10199696 Dispenser Crank: DIY Instructions
Tools Needed:
-Phillips screwdriver
-Pliers
-Ruler
-Small flathead screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Unplug the refrigerator and make sure it is completely powered off.
2. Remove the water filter by twisting the filter counterclockwise until it comes out.
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws from the dispenser cover and carefully remove the cover from the dispenser.
4. With a pair of pliers, gently remove the dispenser crank from the dispenser housing.
5. Measure the length of the old crank and make sure to pick up a replacement crank that has a similar length.
6. Using a small flathead screwdriver, remove the retaining clip from the new crank and slide the crank into the dispenser housing.
7. Secure the crank with the retaining clip.
8. Reattach the dispenser cover and secure it with the Phillips screws.
9. Reinstall the water filter and plug the refrigerator back in.
