WP8563964 Whirlpool Hinge
This Top Load Washer Lid Hinge allows the lid of your washer to open properly and with ease. If the lid of your appliance won’t open at all or feels like it's getting caught, replacing the lid hinge(s) may alleviate these issues. Note that your lid has two hinges; this part is sold separately and can be used for either side. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Step 1: Unplug refrigerator from the wall and take out any food stored in it.
Step 2: Remove the door by unscrewing any screws that hold it in place with a Philips-head screwdriver. Depending on your Whirlpool model, there might be up to 6 screws – 4 on each side and 2 at the top.
Step 3: Place the door flat on a table or workbench. Unscrew and take off the old Whirlpool WP8563964 hinge, then put the new one in its place. Make sure all screws are properly tightened.
Step 4: Place the door back onto the refrigerator and add the screws back in their original positions.
Step 5: Plug in the refrigerator.
Step 6: Test the new Whirlpool WP8563964 hinge to make sure it is functioning properly.
