WP7406P428-60 Whirlpool Oven Bake Element
This Oven Lower Bake Element is a replacement part for the lower oven heating element that provides constant heat when cooking. If your oven does not bake properly, check to see if there is a burned-out section of the element. Replacing the part may alleviate this issue. To access the part, open the oven door and remove the racks.The bake element is held into the oven by two Phillips screws. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. Replacing the WP7406P428-60 Whirlpool Bake Element
1. Disconnect the power before working on any electrical appliance.
2. Remove the screws from the back panel of your oven and take the panel off to expose the bake element.
3. Unscrew the two screws that hold the element in place.
4. Carefully remove and inspect the element to determine if it is the correct type for your oven.
5. If necessary, replace the old element with the new one. The WP7406P428-60 Whirlpool Bake Element should be a direct replacement.
6. Secure the element in place with the two screws, then put the back panel back and tighten the screws.
7. Reconnect the power to the oven.
8. Test the element by turning on the oven to see if it is working correctly.
