WP3399849 Whirlpool Thermal Fuse
The Dryer Thermal Fuse shuts off the motor in an electric dryer when the appliance overheats. If your dryer won't start or will run but no longer heat, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Note that the thermal fuse cannot be reset. Fuses may blow due to a clogged dryer vent, so make sure you clean out this vent when installing the new part. The fuse is located behind the lower front access panel of the dryer. For easier access, you may want to remove the dryer drum behind the entire front panel. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part.

Replacing a Whirlpool WP3399849 Fuse-Thermal
1. Unplug the dryer from the power source.
2. Remove the back panel of the dryer to access the fuse.
3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screws that secure the fuse and bracket in place, and then remove the fuse.
4. Take the new fuse and insert it in the fuse slot, ensuring that it is properly aligned.
5. Replace the bracket and screws, tightening them securely.
6. Put the back panel of the dryer back in place.
