WP2217220 Whirlpool Recirculation Pump Assembly
The Ice Maker Circulation Pump and Motor Assembly sends water from the reservoir over the top of the evaporator plate to form the slab of ice that drops onto the cutting grid. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also turn off the water supply before you begin. Step 1: Unplug the power supply from the Whirlpool recirculation pump.
Step 2: Turn off the water supply to the pump.
Step 3: Remove the screws that are securing the pump to the wall or floor.
Step 4: Place a bucket underneath the pump to catch any spilled water.
Step 5: Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the pump.
Step 6: Remove the old WP2217220 Whirlpool Recirculation Pump Assembly.
Step 7: Install the new WP2217220 Whirlpool Recirculation Pump Assembly, making sure it is properly seated.
Step 8: Reattach the inlet and outlet hoses to the new pump.
Step 9: Secure the new pump to the wall or floor with the screws.
Step 10: Turn on the water supply and power to the new pump.
Step 11: Test the new pump to make sure it is functioning correctly.
